Merrick and Reid

Remember Reid? My friend Liz invited us to the park last week and we had a blast. These two have been special friends since they were about 4 months old. Merrick even did the slide by herself after she watched "Ree-ree" do it.

Swing girl

Mare bear LOVES to swing. (Who doesn't?!) It is finally summer around here, we had snow last week! Amazing how short our warm season is in the mountains. I am definately enjoying being able to let Merrick out without 3 layers on.

Jobsite kid

What a weekend. This little visit to Jays jobsite was the highlight for Merrick, the rest of the weekend was a challenge to say the least. She is feeling better this morning and I actually caught some sleep. TGIM. I'm ready for work!

Viking girl

Not much to say except that the sense of humor has been popping up on a daily basis. Her teachers at school keep telling me she is the class clown. We knew this. (accessories by River..think we need to have a viking/ullr party.)

Pool girl

We are back online! Merrick has been hitting the pools. We take her to the rec center in Breck, and then last weekend down to Grandma and Grandpa Neerhofs neighborhood pool. She is all about the water thats for sure.

Computer down..

Our computer went down in a big way yesterday, I won't be posting for a while. I don't know when I will even have time to deal with it. Please call us if you need to get in touch. Thanks!

A holiday and no work...

Merrick and I have had quite the day! We went to the pool at our rec center and she had a blast. After a huge nap, we went for a stroll with the dogs. We ran right into a moose. He was pretty much running at us, and Circe wasn't having it. She is so protective of Mare-bear. We ran the other way, then turned around to check him out and Mare shouted "Moose!"

It was awesome. Such a fun day. I love this picture, she is so amazing.

No color...

Merrick came home from school with a red eye yesterday, this morning woke up and it was worse. I ended up taking her in and I knew it wasn't pinkeye. She had to do a dye test, and turns out she scratched her eye. This would be why I posted black and whites, there are too many Grandparents checking the blog, and if you saw how red her eye was...I love black and whites though! Rikta was looking so good, I had to put her up as well. (Sorry Circe, next time!)

I love markers

Lately I can't seem to get a picture of Merrick without markers all over her face and clothes. She loves to draw!

Happy Mothers day!

We hiked up peak 8 this morning for a Mothers day ride. It was super fun and a beautiful day. Jay felt the extra weight hiking up, but it was worth it!

May in Colorado

We took Merrick over to the Basin yesterday. Jay made some turns, and me and Mare bear tore up the parking lot with her sled. Hard to believe we are still getting snow. Waiting for it to melt so I can get to work!

So it is the first of May, and we are in the middle of a snow storm. Merrick wore a dress to school with pants on underneath, and sporting the piggy-do. Too cute.

This is the first time she kept them in.

Looking good. She likes to put on the hat by herself...it is starting to warm up here, but snow headed by the end of the week. I love Colorado!

Miss green eyes

I think she has the most beautiful eyes I have ever seen.

I heart cherries!

Representing the Traverse City crew once again. Spring is here...well, almost. We still have 5-6 ft piles of snow everywhere. Merrick and her friends were able to take a field trip to town yesterday. The cherry shades were a HUGE hit. She wore them all day. (Thanks Grandma K and Jaja!)

Zoo day

We have been trying to get to the zoo for three weeks now. Finally, on Wednesday, we beat a spring snowstorm and finally got to go. We had so much fun. Jay even skipped a day of work so we could spend some family time together. Tomorrow Merrick is going to Denver for her very first sleepover with the Neerhof grandparents. I know she will be fine, not so sure about me though! At least she will only be an hour away.

Yoga moves

Merrick came up with this move all by herself. The very best part is the finale with her hands. I took her up to the mountain to watch a halfpipe competition this morning, hope to try the skis again this afternoon.

She went skiing!

O.k. I have no proof other than my word, but Jay can vouch for me too. Merrick stood on her skiis (I had a rope behind her to help her stay up) and even made a turn. We went about 60 feet down the trail. She wanted them off so we stopped, then she cried to get back in them. I'm getting the ski harness today and we are going to go for it. All three of my cameras had dead batteries and wouldn't you know, it was her best attempt yet. I can't wait for the next clear day so I can get her on a chair lift!
