Looking good. She likes to put on the hat by herself...it is starting to warm up here, but snow headed by the end of the week. I love Colorado!

Representing the Traverse City crew once again. Spring is here...well, almost. We still have 5-6 ft piles of snow everywhere. Merrick and her friends were able to take a field trip to town yesterday. The cherry shades were a HUGE hit. She wore them all day. (Thanks Grandma K and Jaja!)

Zoo day

We have been trying to get to the zoo for three weeks now. Finally, on Wednesday, we beat a spring snowstorm and finally got to go. We had so much fun. Jay even skipped a day of work so we could spend some family time together. Tomorrow Merrick is going to Denver for her very first sleepover with the Neerhof grandparents. I know she will be fine, not so sure about me though! At least she will only be an hour away.

Yoga moves

Merrick came up with this move all by herself. The very best part is the finale with her hands. I took her up to the mountain to watch a halfpipe competition this morning, hope to try the skis again this afternoon.

She went skiing!

O.k. I have no proof other than my word, but Jay can vouch for me too. Merrick stood on her skiis (I had a rope behind her to help her stay up) and even made a turn. We went about 60 feet down the trail. She wanted them off so we stopped, then she cried to get back in them. I'm getting the ski harness today and we are going to go for it. All three of my cameras had dead batteries and wouldn't you know, it was her best attempt yet. I can't wait for the next clear day so I can get her on a chair lift!

Skater girl

I busted out the skateboard for Mare Bear a couple of days ago, and the first thing she did was try to stand on it. Summer is starting to look good to me now!

I heart the outdoors!

I have to admit, it is really nice having a little bare pavement for Merrick to run around on. She chooses to walk on snow whenever she runs across it though. This kid is tons of fun!

Angel

The Neerhof Grandparents came up on Saturday and brought GG up to spend some time with little Mare Bear. They had a great time. Little sleeping beauty.

Happy St.Patricks day!

We are lucky enough to have some Irish blood in us...Grandma K sent out the green duds, she even went to school with some shamrock socks on! The bear was from her first St. Pattys, it used to be bigger than her! Have a great day!

Merrick is a tough name to say if you are only 16 months old,but she comes pretty darn close.

Super sad today, Uncle Josh is on his way back to Michigan. Waiting for little Mare Bear to wake up, I know she will be looking for him. She had such a blast while he was here. Worked her way up to good night kisses and even saying his name.(ossh.) It is so hard living far away from your family. I wish so badly that everyone could see our amazing little girl more. Come and visit!

I think Merrick would sleep out in the snow if we would let her. She had her first hard fall, bloody lip and all, then the very next day she took another one. Tough little girl!

Merrick is just now fitting into outfits she got for her first birthday! Watch out, they just keep getting cuter!(so does she.)

Merrick learned to climb up onto the couch by herself yesterday. That used to be the safe zone for the dogs. Rikta didn't seem to mind being used as a cushion. They sat like this for over 20 minutes!
